About Me

Terri Harle with Cede Katie Trust Me

I got my first yorkie from a backyard breeder. I went what I thought was quite a ways to get her too (just North of Seattle, tee hee). The gal sold her to me for with full registration papers. I was concerned the parents hair was shorter and was not allowed to see the kennels, but I didn't really ask either. I didn't feel that she would welcome the questions. If you feel this way, then you are in the wrong place if you are buying a dog either for a pet or for show!  I never would have known the difference between a pet yorkie and a show yorkie had I not started showing and learning! Although Kona was also my pet, she certainly was show motivated! We went to the show for the sheer fun (and terror) of it. We have learned so much along the way, like how silly we looked in the beginning. We just laugh at ourselves now!

Several  years later I was finally at the point where I obtained a great foundation bitch, Cede Dancing Legacy ("Lacy"). I was so excited about her! I got her from a breeder, C.D. Lawrence, in Kent, Washington. CD Lawrence first got me into the Mount Rainier Yorkshire Terrier Club a number years ago.  He trusted her show career to me.  Imagine!  But we had so much fun!  She loved to perform and it showed!  Check out her photo page!!   ("Lacy").

It turned out that after her wonderful show career, my dreams of her being my foundation bitch dwindled.  She had cysts on her ovaries and was never able to carry a litter to full term.  She has been spayed and placed in a fabulous pet home to live out a pampered life.

I ventured out on my own with a young puppy which was a repeat breeding of Lacy.  Cede Katie Trust Me (Katie).  Katie showed well and enjoyed one on one time at shows.  Katie has produced some nice puppies and after three litters, has been placed in her forever home.

I bought a show dog from Nancy Smith of JeNan Kennels in Tacoma, Washington.  She had begun assisting me Lacy and helped me learn what it takes to show and win and enjoy the show ring.  She thought she could trust me with one of her dogs and soon we had another champion!  CH JeNan Simon Says Harle.  He became #5 Yorkshire Terrier in 2006.  Although we received an invite to Westminster and even entered, I fell ill and was unable to make it.  Since then, Simon has been living the life of luxury and entertaining the ladies.

I am now taking some time to breathe with all of the success that this has brought me. These things take time and this sport is certainly teaching me that!  So I am backing off a bit and assisting Nancy Smith again for a while.  Combining our strengths should serve us well.

Well that is the story in short and simple terms.  See us in a show nearby!  Feel free to talk to me, but please wait until after the yorkies have shown!
